DID YOU KNOW the Sonoran desert is the hottest desert in all of North America? During the summer, temps can be as high as 120F, with the desert receiving less than 15in of rain per year! Even with high temps & such little rain, the Sonoran desert is the only place in the world that the ever so famous & beautiful saguaro grow.

There are more than 200 species of plants at home in this desert, in addition to more than 600 species of animals. Sadly, cacti are the fifth most endangered organism in the world! Without them, desert wildlife would lose a vital source of food & habitat. Desert demise can in time, lead to cascading effects on global climate, vegetation, all wildlife & even human populations. It is my desire to bring awareness to the beauty of our desert, in hopes to increase conservation efforts for it's life within.
